Little Quilt and It's NOT Perfect and That's Okay ! from The Quilt Ladies Book Collection

When I was looking through quilt tub boxes a few weeks ago,
I noticed these great colors. So yesterday I spent sometime sewing.

What is a Scrap Quilt? How to Show Off your Unique Style! from Repro Quilt Lover

Scrap quilts are one of the most fun and creative ways to use your fabric stash! A scrap quilt is a style of patchwork quilt, usually pieced, made from many pieces of fabric in varying sizes and patterns. With endless possibilities, it is the perfect way to show off your unique style.

There is a lot of nostalgia associated with quilting and the romantic notion that quilts were made because families couldn’t afford to buy fabrics expressly for the purpose of making a quilt. Many think of scrap quilts as the result of a quilter fondly using leftover fabrics ...

Possible Autumn Quiltalong from Humble Quilts

Happy Friday friends!

I posted this quilt on Facebook to welcome new members and it was suggested to do this as a possible fall quiltalong. I usually do some kind of mystery but am open to doing this if there is enough interest.
This is one I made eons ago and I would make another one.

It was shared that this is the pattern. I could have sworn it was also in a book, but I cannot find that. I think these are readily available and maybe even in your stash!
Let me know what you think.

My son's ...

Little Quilts from Humble Quilts

Here's a Prim quilt I put the finishing touches on this week. It was one block of a quilt called Remembering Cheri after Cheri passed away from cancer. It is growing on me the more I see it! LOL

Here's the solid little quilt with the yellow binding. I LOVE it!

It is backed by a piece of feedsack. This makes me pine for spring!

I machine quilted both of them.

I hope ya'll are doing great! I feel like I'm surrounded by Covid but so far, so good!

Much love

Weekend Stitching from Humble Quilts

This is just one little thing I was able to work on this weekend. I'm finding small unfinished projects that I'm finishing and moving to Etsy!
The yellow on top is for the binding. The brown on the right  is the binding for my little December project I shared.

Below are a few photos from a variety of winter outings. Our weather has been pretty mild. We need rain or snow and I will say the mountains are getting a bit, which is good.

This is the start of my 60th year! I don't actually turn 60 ...

I used a cute pinwheel shirting on the back.

After washing.

Here's the precious vintage doll quilt I used for inspiration!

And, drum roll.................................

I opened an Etsy shop!

I have a kit made up for the "Tea for Two" little quilt. I also am offering a PDF pattern. If you'd prefer I mailed a pattern let me know.

Your quilt is adorable! Will you hand quilt it? I love Jo Morton, can never have enough of her fabrics! Wishing you and your family the happiest of holidays!

(To answer her question I told her I wasn't sure how my wrist would hold up, but I'm going to try and hand quilt it with the splint on to see how it goes. I'll let ya'll know!)

Wee Little Quilt from Humble Quilts

This little quilt used to be a much  bigger quilt, but as quilts do, they wear out and get loved to pieces. So it was made into this little dolly quilt.

Each patch measures a little less than an inch. It's likely that it was to finish at 1" but has shrunk over time. Love the bits of cheddar.

And that black!!

Our weather has been cold, but look how pretty this day was! I hope you saw my video on Instagram. You could see so many mountains that I'm surrounded by.

As I prepare to host Thanksgiving ...

Little Humble Quilts All Through the House from Humble Quilts

It was 90 degrees on Sunday when I was preparing to put up some fall quilts.
So, I stuck with the little ones for now!
Thee is nothign specifically autumn about these, but they remind me of fall colors, so they get to take a turn at decorating the house.

Off the Beaton Path was made originally for a swap, but I worked on it while my dad was sick and I titled it as a reminder of the fun camping trips we took- Off the Beaton Path, so ended up keeping this and making another.  I very rarely every ...

Welcome Spring! from Humble Quilts

I made a few quilt changes around my home to reflect the change of seasons. Down with "Let it Snow"!!
Welcome spring2021! Looking forward to a year of hope and freedom.

Liberated baskets started in a class with Gwen Marston.
A springy quilt designed by Cheri Payne.

These 2 daffodils popped out over the weekend! Great timing!!
I was out on a short local hike yesterday and heard the sweet melody of the western meadowlark.  (which happens to be Oregon's state bird) Always means spring is here!
I hope you can hear him! He is at the top of ...

Eclectic Wednesday! from Humble Quilts

Here are a few more varied projects I worked on over the weekend.

This is an oldie Birds in the Air. The next part to do is to make 1/2 blocks. There was too much brain power needed for me to figure that out at the retreat.

Here's a little mini in process I made using little orphan blocks and a few bits of new reproduction  fabric from my sampler from Two Thimbles. We have a trip planned in a few weeks so I'll get it basted and bring it along for hand quilting. (Wyoming anyone?)

I ...

Little Quilts and A Bear Story from Humble Quilts

I picked up this little quilt, made from a larger one. Originally I was to be doing a lecture on little quilts and wanted to use this, now I wonder if I'll be doing any this year.
I would have been going to MO next week!! Makes me so sad!

Closer view of these great prints!
 It has no batting.

Now to answer a few questions about hiking.
Our tents are pretty close together- close enouh to where we can hear each other. We do not keep any food in or near our tents. We hang our food and ...

Little Quilt Giveaway! from Humble Quilts

But first....

I haven't sewn a stitch this week! It was only a 4 day week, but to add to that my hubby had cataract surgery, so I was the designated driver.  All went well- so far. He only had his surgery yesterday.

I made my first trip to Costco, which is less than a mile from the surgery center. They've got it working like a well oiled machine, don't they? They were one of the first businesses in Central Oregon to require masks and because of the amount of people, it really is impossible to stay ...

I should be Trekking in the Andes right Now! from Humble Quilts

If all had stayed on the straight and narrow I'd be in the Andes hiking with my daughter reveling in the views and likely having a hard time breathing because of the altitude! LOL

Instead I'm hanging out in my hometown staying healthy. My birthday was all things Peru.

My kids are fun and funny!

Sometimes my world gets a bit topsy turvy and I have a hard time finding balance.
Elsa and I went out backpacking. The fresh air and exercise brought  me back to center.

And then the coolest things happened.
I came home from my ...
